A manufacturing plant requiring large quantities of chemicals for its operation is built near a small community. Chemical processing by-products stored in large holding ponds leak into the water table and migrate outside the plant boundaries. As time goes by, local residents notice a strange odor to the water from their wells. Certain medical problems become more prevalent than is normal. Ground water pollution is suspected. Scenarios such as this can result in damage to the health or property of a large number of insureds, requiring special skills of counsel similar to those needed in handling class actions. In addition, proper handling of the complex geologic, scientific and medical issues involved requires a firm with the ability to coordinate a complex investigation involving experts from many disciplines. CPR has considerable experience and expertise representing large groups in matters involving complex technical, medical and scientific issues. And based on its experience, CPR is better able to predict for its clients the potential effects on any litigation that might arise, and manage the litigation to a successful conclusion.
