Fire Losses

Class Actions

The National Fire Protection Association estimated that property damage losses from fires totaled over $15 Billion Dollars in 2008. Fire losses present major investigative and legal challenges. Standard practice in the industry is to employ professionals to assess the full scope of the fire-property-business losses and determine whether coverage is appropriate. Too often, however, potential third-party recoveries are "left behind" in the rubble of the aftermath. Hundreds of millions of dollars may be on the line. CPR knows that once a full assessment is made of the value of the loss, some of the more challenging/complex issues still remain. CPR can manage the scope of the investigation, study the important question whether loss-responsibility fairly belongs with other parties and then develop a plan for third-party recovery - which often requires extensive litigation. Litigation for which CPR is well-suited.
